Activity Tips

Calgarians of all ages need to make a conscious decision to be more active in every way they can.  Your body is designed to move and it's surprising how little time it takes to stay healthy and reduce the risk of disease if you are physically active, regularly throughout the day.  

We are awake for about 15-18 hours/day yet we only need to be active for one hour to achieve health benefits and it doesn't have to be done all at once. Activities can be added up, 10 minutes at a time, to get that daily total. Start slowly...and build up! If you are already doing some light activities, move up to more moderate ones. A little is good, but more is even better, if you want to achieve health benefits.

The best way to keep going, once you've taken that first step, is to do activities that are easy to fit in your schedule and most importantly are fun! Here you can find activity ideas for all age groups.
