- Tobogganing/ Crazy Carpets – Pulling your toboggan up the hill will work your heart, lungs and legs, and then you have the fun of sledding down! For added excitement try building a jump! But don’t forget your helmet!
- Snowmen – Make one for yourself and others for each family member
- Skiing/Snowboarding – A great way to have fun and develop some skills on the hill! You can head to the mountains or test your abilities on terrain park at COP.
- Snowshoeing – A great way to do some off trail exploring in the snow. You can rent snowshoes at the University of Calgary
Ice Hockey – Have a have a pair of ice skates? There should be an ice rink somewhere near your house- they are usually near community centers. If you are into hockey you probably won’t have much trouble finding a pick-up game of shinny, but most communities also have pleasure rinks where you can work on your skating skills or goof around with your friends. Skating is a great cardiovascular activity that helps your heart and builds endurance.
- Snow Forts – Get some friends together and build up snow forts. Building a snow fort is hard work and will get your heart going as well as your muscles. See how creative you can be – and then have a snowball fight using your fort as home base.
