• Take them! Eat well and be active.  You will feel refreshed, re-charged, energized and be much more productive in the afternoon.
  • Choose a healthy off-site restaurant within walking distance and enjoy the walk to and from.
  • Start a lunch time activity club (running, walking, yoga, etc).
  • Live actively on your lunch break; jump on your bike, put on your running or walking shoes, strap on your rollerblades or put your swim suit on and get going.
  • Find a nearby Fitness Centre or Recreation centre and get active.  Take a class, lift some weights, or use the cardio equipment.
  • An empty meeting room can be used as a Fitness or Yoga studio.  Find an instructor (with their own liability insurance) and have them lead classes for your workplace.
  • Bring your dog to work (if it's allowed).  This way staff will have a buddy to walk with at lunch.  A Vancouver hotel has adopted dogs for guests to walk.  Everyone gets exercise and feels safe on the street at the same time.
  • Take flexible breaks if you can.  Negotiate your hours and/or schedule if you require longer lunch hours to get your physical activity in for the day.
  • Catch up with a friend of a college over a walk or run.
