- Start every meeting with a stretch break. For longer meetings be sure to add another quick stretch break every 60-90 minutes
- Rotate seating every 30-60 minutes for physical movement and a fresh perspective during your next meeting.
- Start your meeting with an activity based ice-breaker. You’ll get everyone moving, thinking and feeling more comfortable with group participation
- For longer meetings: take a mandatory walk break part way through the meeting. Ensure everyone walks about rather than to their desks to check email and answer calls
- For shorter meetings call a walk and talk meeting. These are great for quick chats that don’t require pen and paper or computer
- During your meetings choose water or juice over coffee to ensure proper hydration of your mind and body
- Don’t meet for the sake of meeting. Hold meetings as required rather than as scheduled. This will keep staff more productive and eliminates unproductive sitting time
- Outfit a meeting room with treadmills or bikes. Take a walk or even an easy spin and everyone can remain active while accomplishing the task at hand.
