• Walk the kids to and from school and work in between.
  • Attend a neighbourhood fitness class and use flexibility to work earlier or later. This will help to keep you in touch with local activities as well.
  • Go to the gym, pool, etc. when it's not busy - take advantage of the flexibility afforded by a home office.
  • Walk/run during daylight hours during the winter time and work when it's dark.
  • Rake the lawn/shovel the walk/vacuum/scrub the floors for a break - take several mini breaks a day. This combines an active household chore with a needed break from work.  
  • Ride a bike or walk to nearby meetings that are somewhat casual - plan meetings to accommodate this activity.
  • Take a break. Put on your favourite music and dance like no one is watching.
  • Invest in a wireless headset for your phone. Now you can sneak in 10 minutes of activity and not miss any important calls.
  • Start your morning with a brisk 10 minute walk around the block, then repeat at the end of the day.
  • Pop in your favourite exercise video during your "lunch hour" and exercise in the privacy of your own home.
