Sporting Activities

  • Make a family commitment to try a new activity each season. Activities like snowshoeing, curling, fishing and in-line skating would be interesting to try! There are many clubs and organizations in Calgary to introduce you to activities you've never tried before!
  • Challenge your children to a basketball, volleyball, tennis or baseball game, they'll love the idea of competing against you!
  • Enter a local charity walk or run and train with the family.
  • Get actively involved in the sports your children participate in. Volunteer as a coach.
  • If your child is involved in organized sports, offer to help out. Assistant coaches and volunteers are always appreciated. Offer to lead a warm-up!
  • Play a family or neighbourhood street hockey game on a nice day. 
  • Join the Canadian Cross Country Fitness Challenge - Imagine walking, running, biking, swimming or rowing across Canada from sea to sea, province to province!
