Volunteer Work

There are many volunteer positions available for older adults in Calgary. Volunteering keeps you active and allows you to help other individuals as well as the community at large.

  • Alberta Theatre Projects ATP requires volunteers for a variety of tasks. You can help out for a few hours in the gift shop or spend some time raising funds or do one of the many other volunteer tasks.
  • Calgary Public Libraries - Volunteer opportunities include Homebound Readers, ESL Conversation Club, Libraries in Residence and Reading Advantage and others.
  • Calgary Zoo - The Calgary Zoo offers you the chance to volunteer, make an important contribution and learn more about animals all at the same time.
  • Fish Creek Provincial Park - Friends of Fish Creek is a busy society with many projects on the go. If environmental projects interest you, check out their site.
  • Fort Calgary - You will receive an introduction to the history of Calgary, shadowing and mentoring as well as one-on-one training for specific positions.
  • Heritage Park - Heritage Park offers a number of interesting volunteer opportunities for the history lover!
