Energy is a benefit affecting the body in more ways than one! Regular physical activity has been shown to decrease feelings of tiredness and increase energy levels.
In addition, energy can be thought of like a set of balancing scales. Picture a two-sided scale: One side of the scale is food energy that enters the body to keep us functioning and alive. The other side of the scale is energy needed for everyday living and physical activity. When the amount of food energy entering the body equals the energy needed for activity, energy balance is achieved, or the scale is balanced. Therefore if physical activity levels are increased, the body will use up more energy than is being put in by food. An increase in energy use contributes to achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight. For more information about energy balance click here!
